"I Love Food 3’ wasn’t really on the cards but having received so many lovely e-mails asking for another taste I couldn’t resist putting on my chef’s hat again!"

‘I Love Food’ and ‘I Love Food 2’ have been enormous fun and I have made many lovely friends and acquaintances through writing these books, which have managed to find their way to most of the British Royal Family as well as to the White House!

If you watch television, you might think that everyone aspires to cooking like a celebrity chef, but few of us, in reality, have the time. I don’t presume at all to be a ‘Master Chef’ – just a home cook who loves traditional food. I have two recipe categories - ‘posh food and comfort food’ - and in my books I try to show how even easy recipes can be made ‘simply elegant’.

Listening one day to my favourite radio programme, ‘Desert Island Discs’, I realised what fun it is to hear about other people’s lives, so I thought that I would make this book a little different by doing a ‘through the keyhole’ introduction, setting out a few landmarks in my life along with recipes and lots of photographs throughout the book.

Another of my reasons for writing another cook book was to tell you of our great excitement about the building of our distillery, which we started in 2014, and where we are making the whisky the old fashioned way. I have written a few whisky recipes which you might like to try, and we hope that you will buy a bottle of Ballindalloch Single Malt in 2023!

My beloved dogs, of course, have to have a few pages too, and this time it is a family affair, all the recipes having been concocted by my grand-daughter Rose, my ‘doggie masterchef’!

I do hope you will enjoy my latest book.

Happy Cooking!
